The performing and dramatic arts form a valuable part of school life. Pupils work with a specialist teacher to hone their skills, rehearse pieces and, ultimately, to face the challenge of performance.

Drama is a valuable and powerful teaching tool and is a popular and prominent inclusion running through the timetable from the Nursery to the Prep Department. Every child has a role to play in his or her year group's annual performances.

Designed to help children learn the craft of acting and drama, our repertoire for Prep boys and girls is wide ranging and includes works from Shakespeare as well as Greek tragedies. For Pre-Prep children, the repertoire focuses upon musicals written to support the curriculum.

In addition to timetabled lessons in the Pre-Prep and Prep Departments, there are a number of co-curricular activities: Nursery and Reception Drama Club, Prep Drama Club.

In the spring term, Prep 6 students experience all the aspects of film making in creating a DVD memento of their final year at the school. During the summer term, all children prepare for our end-of-year shows, where they are encouraged to create different characters, understand complex plots and help organise and star in productions.

School productions are held in the prestigious Battersea Arts Centre, regular visits are made to the Globe and Unicorn theatres and children are invited to perform in a variety of styles from Chaucer to various musicals and classics.
